Leontios Makhairas[edit]

Nice to see you here, your personal website is linked from Leontios Makhairas. Was wondering which manuscript the text you ve got there came from. Have you considered uploading it to wikisource? Regards Mavros 00:55, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Θέλουμε Βοήθεια[edit]

Προσπαθώ να στηρίξω την έρευνα του User:Odysseas στο English words of Greek origin.

NikoSilver 16:24, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Did I ever thank you for your comment on my Talk page? I don't think I did... sorry. I do have an excuse, though... I was laid off that week. But in the long run it was a good thing, as I have a far better job now.... --Macrakis 05:03, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ancient Greek Wikisource[edit]

I understand from your userboxes you're interested in Ancient Greek. I've submitted a proposal to add an Ancient Greek Wikisource on Meta, and I'd be very grateful if you could assist me by either voting in Support of the proposal, or even adding your name as one of the contributors in the template. (NB: I'm posting this to a lot of people, so please reply to my talkpage or to Meta) --Nema Fakei 20:10, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interface localization for Klingon[edit]

Hi! I'm writing this to you as you are one of the people in Category:User tlh-3. I was wondering if you would be interested in starting a localization process for Klingon, so that we can get MediaWiki in Klingon.

There is a system for localization at BetaWiki that lets users translate the interface to their language, and makes the centralized localization files update, so that all wikis running MediaWiki can use the language. This means that you can choose to have a Klingon interface on all Wikimedia wikis like Wikipedia.

I hope you will be interested in this, and join in the effort of translating MediaWiki to all human languages (and then some). Jon Harald Søby 17:01, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unicode expert required[edit]

Hi, you being apparently the expert on this, could I ask your input at Talk:Eta (letter)#"Tack heta" glyphs? Thanks a lot, Fut.Perf. 10:12, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Heta in Unicode is not any fault, even yours, because you wrote here: http://www.tlg.uci.edu/~opoudjis//unicode/unicode_aitch.html that in Delphi, Heraclea/Tarentum, and Cnidus eta and heta were used simultaneously as separate letters. Example: ο Μικος ο Μαγνητος τἀθαναιαι̣ μ' ανεθηκε. (Jeffery 1990:415) what means: Mikos son of Magnes dedicated me to Athena. CBMIBM (talk) 14:16, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Translation Check[edit]

Great job on the Tsakonian language page! I wonder if you could check my translation of a Tsakonian dance number at Sou Ipa Mana. --Jpbrenna (talk) 16:09, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sampi[edit]

Hi, I just rewrote and expanded Sampi. If you ever find time, would you like to review it? There's some fun new stuff in there that might interest you.

You might also be able to help me with a small problem about the naming. For a long time we've carried around the alternative name "disigma", apparently because you mentioned it on your website. In researching for this article, it struck me that I could find that name absolutely nowhere else in the literature – the only places outside Wikipedia I ever saw it mentioned were your pages and the parthia.com site. Have you got any pointers where that name comes from and who used it? Cheers, – Fut.Perf. 07:35, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Κυπριακό "μεν" και ερασμιακή προφορά[edit]

Για σου οπουτζιή. Στο Cypriot Greek λέει : The vowel eta η is in some words pronounced which according to the "Erasmian" understanding is ancient Greek. A basic common example would be μην in Cypriot, μεν. Προσωπικά νομίζω ότι το παράδειγμα δεν επιβεβαιώνει τίποτε, στο Μαχαιρά έχουμε "μηδέν", στην ΚΝΕ (κοινή νέα ελληνική) μηδέ, λογικά το δ στα κυπριακά εξαφανίστηκε και προέκυψε το μεν. Εσύ που κατέχεις το θέμα τι λέεις. Mavros (talk)
