Radar

Good additions to radar! I've tried to integrate your wikilinks into the flow of the article, but it can definitely be improved.. Also, the "also see" area is for things not already linked in the article.

Your image on Radar Signal Characteristics is slightly wrong. There are 5 black spectral components of the transmit pulses depicted but only 3 red doppler shifted echo components. I cannot imagine a target that would selectively scatter only 3 of 5 narrowly spaced frequencies. Positive doppler shift due to a closing target does not imply it reflects only frequencies from the upper carrier sideband. HTH! 13:41, 9 January 2016 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

I'm not sure what this equation is, since I do not recognise it. A number of equations are relevant to radar, some of which may be found further down this article and some in other articles relating to radar; see the related articles at the bottom of the Radar page.. In any case, the main reason that I undid that contribution was because it was placed at the very top of the article without any explanation and completely st odds with Wikipedia guidelines. I was uncertain if the contribution was some sophisticated form of vandalism or the work of someone who was unaware of how to contribute correctly. I really don't see how subtly changing the equation helps; I still don't know why you have put it here. Since you have not chosen to explain your actions, I can only conclude that your original change on the main page was vandalism and not a genuine error. Is there a 3rd doppler shift when the source and reflector travel toward each other

I don't understand the question. There is a doppler shift when one, the other or both vehicles travel towards or away from each other. Only one, not a second or a third.
