Vandalism warning faded; not vandalism, fixed info was all.

A tag has been placed on Category:Fictional pyrokinetics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 21:26, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:JTest.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:JTest.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:05, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Request to move article List of Phineas & Ferb episodes incomplete

You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page List of Phineas & Ferb episodes to a different title - however your proposal is either incomplete or has been contested as being controversial. As a result, it has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete after five days will be removed.

Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:

  1. Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
  2. Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
  3. Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.

If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 06:40, 12 November 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:PowerPack-Blizzard.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:PowerPack-Blizzard.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Re: The Ghost of You

Sorry about the revert, though to be fair I had thought about it beforehand. I was also, however, completely aware of the graphic novel. The song I believed the title was referring to, These Foolish Things, was written in the 1930s, and well before the 1980s book. The ad in the Watchmen graphic novel was a reference to the original song. I had reverted several similar edits before yours, but none of them had been sourced. I hadn't seen the video, and simply thought the editors were mistaken. Thanks for pointing that out. Friginator (talk) 20:35, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

To answer your question, yes. The line "Oh, how the ghost of you clings" is from the original song. It was referenced in the 1985-86 Watchmen series, and apparently that was where the band got the name from. Friginator (talk) 21:41, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

File:Coasterfalls.jpg

Why is this image needed? mynameinc 20:10, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

But, what value does it have to the encyclopedia? By the way, that image being in your userspace (any pages starting with user:SuperFlash101 or user talk:SuperFlash101) violates the rationale for fair use. mynameinc 20:16, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Don't be hateful, as Michael Corleone once said, "It's not personal, it's just business." Since the Simpsons have been compared to your Phineas and Ferb article, see The Simpsons premiere, Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire. All the copyrighted images serve a purpose other than to just show a screenshot. One illustrates the episode in general, one shows what censors were worried about, and the other shows Barney's original hair color, which was later changed. mynameinc 20:31, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
You weren't hateful, it's just most discussions turn that way, and this one was to the point (4 posts) where most discussions turn hateful. There isn't a maximum, just see Wikipedia:Featured article criteria and Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. The roller coaster image-I don't see what it illustrates. Not being a fan, this isn't my expertise, so my constructive criticism may not be the most accurate. mynameinc 20:39, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
The image in the infobox of an episode is supposed to be representative of the entire episode. The others are supposed to illustrate anything else significant. mynameinc 20:49, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

DYK

Hey, I was away from my computer when you pinged me a few minutes ago. A DYK needs to be expanded fivefold within a 5 day period. Sorry, I forgot that part. So I don't think that would qualify. My apologies! Killiondude (talk) 21:28, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

When you nominate an article for DYK, please do so using the template (there are instructions at T:TDYK#Sample DYK suggestion strings and also in the documentation for Template:NewDYKnomination) rather than copy-and-pasting an older nomination. This copy-and-paste nom you did caused 80% of the DYK nominations page to be hidden. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 01:52, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Great work

I've noticed you nominated Phineas and Ferb for GA. Great work! It looks brilliant. -- A talk/contribs 20:51, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Your welcome. Again, it's astonishing! I noticed the first character article had undergone a redirect previously, and it's really great to see it's shaping into an article that features an incredibly large majority of outer-universe perspective (i.e., the entire article is not a biography of the character). I hope you didn't mind, but I was surprised you created an entire article in one day, so I took a peek at your sandbox (yes, I'm incredible). Great work already! -- A talk/contribs 14:25, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Phineas and Ferb

Do you think that you could re-format the citations with {{cite web}} templates? They're not a requirement, but it'd make it look more professional. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 00:44, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Okay, then they should all have the work field filled out at the least. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 01:16, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
  • There's a "work" field in the cite web template. Many of the refs are missing that field. Something like |work=IMDb or somesuch. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 01:20, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Dan_Povenmire.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. GA articlehistory errors

When updating an articlehistory, please see instructions at Template:Articlehistory and scroll to the bottom of the article talk page when finished to make sure the red error category is not lit. When the error category is red, pls locate the error. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:27, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Here is the corrected articlehistory: [1] If you're unsure how to do an AH without errors, it's best to just leave the GA template on the page for someone who does. I added the oldid, corrected the category (see here), and removed the error on sm. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:43, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
No idea ... it's hard for me to keep up with why GA has so many discrepancies ... I only know of that list on the GA page ... I don't know why other GA editors use other categories. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 17:49, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Also, if you plan to update a lot of articlehistories, you will need User:Dr pda/articlehistory.js to do it correctly. Adding a GA, while possibly leaving out earlier AH events, makes future updates harder for other editors. Dr pda's script provides you the oldids and a history of event. P&F

I'm helping out some on the Phineas & Ferb article. Could you please try to come up with more specific cites than just a Google search? That's really not a source. As for things like the books, the least you can do is show an Amazon link (which I'm not too fond of) or something. Also, some of the citations still need a publisher/work and access date (most notably the IMDb links). Hey there - finished the copyedit (fairly quickly, since it's not too long). One thing I'd expect your GA reviewer to ask about is the footnote reference to an email from Jeff Marsh. Is that an email you were sent? If so, it's going to be hard to verify, and a reviewer's likely to ask about it. Have you considered getting an OTRS ticket number to verify it? The question of the production code is a bit muddled in the article generally: reference #14 claims the code is 114; you cite ref #3 to say it was the 16th produced, but I can't find that information in the linked page. It's possible that I messed up the ref placing during the copyedit - could you give it a second look? Good work with the article, anyway! Gonzonoir (talk) 19:17, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:DanSwampyComicCon.jpg

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:DanSwampyComicCon.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 23:55, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the barnstar! That was a pleasant surprise. I'm glad you like the articles! I've got Subway (Homicide: Life on the Street) and Blood Ties (Homicide: Life on the Street) nominated for GAN, if you'd like to review them, but you're certainly not obligated to. I see you've been doing some nice work on Phineas and Ferb articles. I'm sorry to admit it, but I'm not very familiar with the show, but nice work nonetheless! — Hunter Kahn (c) 23:09, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Dan and Swampy.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Dan and Swampy.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 01:02, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
