Amos Ke(i)nan[edit]

Hi Salome1969! The person who contributed to that article most is User:Nudve, and you can contact him at User talk:Nudve. However, it appears that Amos Keinan is indeed the common English spelling. All sources in the Wikipedia article except one (including media like Haaretz and Ynet) use this spelling. If you can provide a sufficient amount of evidence that Kenan is the common spelling, we will gladly move the article. Hi again! It is good to know that family members of notable people with articles on Wikipedia come here to edit. Even so, you must understand that Wikipedia has certain policies about verifiability, according to which we cannot take family connections as evidence. Hi. First, let me say I did not create this article, I just rewrote it recently. When I first found it, Amos Kenan did not even exist as a redirect, and I created it. I considered moving it, especially considering Kenan is the name that appears in the English translation of his books. However, as Ynhockey says above, there are many sources that use Keinan, so I decided to keep it. I'm willing to consider a move, but I think that in such borderline cases, WP:HE should probably prevail. Cheers, Nudve (talk) 21:05, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First, some sources do spell Keinan, and not just kids. See, for example, here or here. Or, to use a different analogy, Israeli roadsigns spell Qiryat Shemona but Wikipedia spells it differently. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window.
