Allison K Heather[edit]

I'm watching the page. The one piece of information that I'd really like to reference is the name change between Death and Heather. Let me know what else I can help with.Naraht (talk) 14:50, 22 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Amazement[edit]

You wrote, "I remain amazed that a living person has no control over whether they have a page on Wikipedia, not to mention its content. Very open to abuse by any individual, as has been the case here." The problem is that in this sad, silly old world of ours, lots of people become notable, and not all of them have any interest in the world knowing the truth about them. Imagine if INSERTDESPOTHERE or RANDOMCRIMEBOSS or SOMESERIALKILLER got to determine whether there was an article about them here, or could control its content. So we try to maintain standards of verifiability via reliable sources, neutral point of view, etc., and ask that people with a conflict of interest fully disclose said COI, and abide by restrictions calculated to prevent their shaping the narrative to their own desires. In the case of Heather, an article was created as part of our effort to improve the breadth and depth of our coverage of female scholars and academics, an area where we are not as strong as we want to be in spite of efforts by many editors over the years. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:27, 23 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
