Fianna Fáil[edit]

As a newcomer, you cannot know all the ins and outs of Wikipedia so let me help you understand why your edits were reversed. (I did not reverse them and in fact I have never been to that page before now, but I know why they were reversed.) One of Wikipedia's cardinal rules is that all information should have a citation to the source of that information. This allows readers to verify that the information is accurate.

In Wikipedia, it is not enough for information to be accurate, there must be a way for other readers to verify that it is accurate. Experienced editors know to add a citation along with their information.

You were correct to edit that page if you thought you were improving it. But other editors were correct to remove it because you did not provide a source for your information. If they had realized you were a newcomer they might have given you a better explanation. One of Wikipedia's policies is Please do not bite the newcomers.

The article Alliance for Europe of the Nations says this: While the AEN in the broad is conservative, its Irish member Fianna Fáil is centrist to centre-left and there is a strong movement for the party to leave AEN and join the liberal ALDE.

Talk:Fianna Fáil has an ongoing discussion about the party's ideology. That would be a good place for you to discuss with other editors as to what label to use. I am going to copy your question from the Help page over there so other editors can perhaps explain their reasons for reverting your edits. By discussing with each other, you may reach a consensus as to what label to use. Sbowers3 02:34, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
