I mention the wikipedia organization im my classes, its democratic way of treating information, the way it opens up their files to the public in general. And its people too such as yourself and others who still believe in freedom and free content access. Regards and can you recover Prof. Nemer´s content ? ¡Hola Peruvianllama![edit]

I was just visiting and I saw someone had vandalized your head shot and had written something nasty so I deleted the image since I don't know how to return it to the original...Rosameliamartinez 06:33, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hola, thanks for the advice. I do need your assistance with this little strange question. How many people does it take to revert a vandalized pic to its original?Rosameliamartinez 07:20, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I saw you said something about being a "RfPoP" in my talk...what's that?Rosameliamartinez 07:33, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No, it wasn't meant to be a joke lol it was just something I noticed...BTW, is there really a comic answer to how many wikipedians does it take to screw a lightbulb? Rosameliamartinez 07:37, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If there is I'd say 3...one to screw the light bulb, one to vandalize the light bulb and one to revert it to its original lolRosameliamartinez 07:38, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ohhh...RfPOP lol. When you say 70% or 80% in support that's a total of how many people more or less? I mean, I know a lot of people browse through wikipedia, but how many have to vote for you to become an administrator?

Also...are people allowed to publish stuff in wikipedia that can be found elsewhere?...news etc...I think I found an article about a colombian festival and I recognized where it came from...does it matter if the author has copyright or not?Rosameliamartinez 08:50, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

About the colombian festival ( Vallenato Legend Festival is the name of the article), the person had just taken what it said in the official website in spanish and translated it; what tipped me off was the fact that some fairly complex phrases (normally used by spanish speaking journalists) were used but the translation was soooo moronic...it obviously had to be an unskilled writer translating something done by a skilled one...and trust me, it wasn't rewriten, it was (or tried to be) word by word, the result being pretty awkward. I just deleted it and explained in the edit summary and the discussion, giving the link to where exactly to find the article...Rosameliamartinez 08:53, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Okey, point taken. I'll rewrite it today :)Rosameliamartinez 12:36, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Finished, not a stub. It's not a translation either. I'll be amazed if there's much more to be found on the web that isn't superfluous.Rosameliamartinez 14:30, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks (kinda) for fixing my user page[edit]

...but it feels odd to have someone else editing it for me. I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I'd just as soon do it myself. (You're still one of the good guys though.) rodii 02:10, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Southern Mauristemo Islands[edit]

Thanks for taking the inititive on this one. It's obviously a hoax, but at the time I wasn't feeling up to initiating an AfD. It was part of a little hoaxing blitz the same person did on Nov. 4, trying to plant evidence of his islands in the Oceania and Micronesia articles. There's still an image (Image:Mauristemo.gif) around too. I'll gladly vote, though this looks like a speedy to me. rodii 03:21, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Commerical Link[edit]

Hey thanks man for being so consiterate and removing the commerical link off my user page. I dont even know who you are and your patrolling my user space. Nice. =D. But sadly, I added the link myself just wasnt logged on.. hehehehe. Thanks for the effort though! - User:UnlimitedAccess

Semi-protection[edit]

I saw you just reverted vandalism on George W. Bush, and wondered what you thought about the proposals to curb what's going on there. If you have time, check out Wikipedia:Semi-protection policy, and weigh in (there's a bit of a large discussion page, so be prepared.) Hope to see you there. -Mysekurity (have you seen this?) 01:38, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Second opinion[edit]

Howdy! I stumpled upon a bit of vandalism here: Restoration colony. Then I ran across this article: Griffith, Indiana#History of Griffith, Indiana that looks suspicious to me. Since I am relatively new to Wikipedia, I make minor edits and the like, but this one just doesn't look right to me. Would you mind taking a peek? Thanks! Schmiteye 01:44, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to review it. It seemed like he went to a lot of trouble to write the article, but it could be pure fiction for all I know. I will leave it for someone more familiar with the subject. Take care! --Schmiteye 22:12, 6 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The information is correct. Look up some history on the town. It is all correct information.

Please check[edit]

Hello, it's me again - I do not know how to contact you but I believe you should check the Salvation Army article. There must have happened something strange..... have no idea what (wasn't me!!) regards HAMUBA (yes, I am not longer just a IP address ;-)but my nickname does not appear in the English wiki -> German)

Thanks for deleting my HELPFUL commentary on Synechdoche[edit]

Um yeah, i had useful information on synechdoche but then it got deleted.... no need to aapologize to me... just think of all the poor debaters and knowledge-thirsty children that lost their opportunity to learn more about synecdoche.... you might of well have spit in their faces...... Could you speedy delete this?[edit]

Freemasonry Criticism is an article created by a sockpuppet of User:Lightbringer. It basically puts forth his version of Anti-Freemasonry, and the arbitration case against said user banned him indefinitely from editing any article relating to Freemasonry, which should certainly include creating an article as well. my edits to strollback[edit]

...or fauxback or whatever you care to nickname it. I take it you've tested it out. You might be the only person not assuming I typed my edit summaries by hand. I don't really know javascript, either. I kinda modeled the code after Jnothman's AFD helper tool. Thus I'm not sure whether or how well it would work with a real rollback (hint hint). — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 07:58, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and you'll also notice that if you do a typo or anything that is not a valid shortcut, it defaults back to "Reverted 'edits' by..." — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 08:03, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

faux-rollback, again[edit]

P.S. I see that you declined adminsip, which is unfortunate. Personally, I feel you are more qualified than I am.

No, I have not tried the talk page loader, being a js-noob in all actuality. I'm goofing around at work at the moment so I guess I'll give it a shot. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 08:09, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Poor memory. Yes I did try it, and no it doesn't work for me either. :( — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 08:14, 12 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

So you're saying you enter "c + ___" for types of edits encounter you hadn't previously thought to categorize. Interesting. I thought about doing that but concluded it would be better to let all non-standard responses default to "edits" and just add the new anomaly to the list of choices at the next cease-fire. Bum Wine Wednesdays[edit]

Hey Peruvian llama, I wanted to write you a quick little note about the Bum Wine Wednesdays (or BWW) article. I understand that you oppose the BWW article because you have never heard of BWW before, but this does not mean that it isn't a true drinking tradition at Willamette University. Willamette University is a small, liberal arts college and doesn't get a whole lot of media coverage on its drinking traditions; I can't think of a lot of universities that do. It is hard to expect the writers of the BWW article to be able to "varify" their claims, but how would you expect them to? I think that to the extent that many people, including myself, have come forward to stand against the deletion of the article is a testament to the fact that BWW is a true tradition. I myself am a student at WU and i can attest to the fact that BWW is celebrated all over campus on Wednesday nights. The tradition is celebrated in multiple dorms (All excluding baxter, which is a substance free hall) and is now being celebrated in the frats. Even last Wednesday i heard of two students, who in their poetry class, read two poems (one a curse and the other a toast) to Bum Wine. Both students were proudly under the influence of Bum Wine. I realize that one simple illustration of BWW being celebrated on campus may not be enough to satisfy you, but please look to the fact that students all over campus consume Bum Wine on Wednesday nights and say that they are celebrating "Bum Wine Wednesday." I am writing to you because I know that in the past you have opposed a similiar BWW stub, but I am hoping that my letter (or note) may halp explain exactly why I believe the article is legit. I respect your work and I respect you for how you try to ensure that wikipedia is a reliable encyclopedia and that is why I feel the need to justify this article to you. If you have any questions or comments I would be happy to respond to them. Thank you for listening. And finally, I hope that some how you might be persuaded to express your support for the article; but, if that is impossible, then i hope you will not openly oppose it. Thanks, again.158.104.76.254 10:08, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Go Ahead[edit]

(Conversation copied to User talk:Brendan Vox)

Ban me, you asshole. As if you hadn't already demonstrated yourself to be a fascist. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brendan Vox (talk • contribs) .

What logical reason, aside from being bored and an asshole, do you have for deleting the Radium Girls? The rules regarding bands are utter bullshit, and the antithesis of a "free" encyclopedia, as they give preference to the wealthy and good-looking. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brendan Vox (talk • contribs) .

I certainly believe in the core philosophies of Wikipedia, but it would seem that no one else does. I'm not going to change the rules by obeying them, particularly because no one agrees with me. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brendan Vox (talk • contribs) .

In light of these goings on, you might wish to reconsider this. — FREAK OF NURxTURE (TALK) 09:31, Dec. 14, 2005

copied from User talk:Doops: Erm, I know that you said you were going to do something about it on the related talk page, but I assume that "something" didn't include blanking [1] most of the article :) Not sure if that was a slip of the fingers, or what, but I thought I should explain my revert as it seems like yours was an edit meant in good faith. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 06:55, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I guess it was a finger slip. Unless... my wireless network's been patchy lately; is it possible that pressing "save" before my browser's finished downloading the existing text could send it back a truncated version? Doops | talk 07:04, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fortune Lounge Article deletion[edit]

I would like to understand better why the Fortune Lounge Group article keeps on being deleted, as I have tried as much as possible to re-edit the article so that it is less promotional. It would be nice for the Group to feature in the Wiki and I do not mind re-editing the material once again, but I do not understand the grounds for deletion.

I have re-edited the article and submitted this on 15 Dec 2005 only to see it speedily deleted even though it was a new version.

I see you have a number of online casinos and poker rooms listed in the Wikipedia and these articles have external links so if this is not ideally the factor for deletion - please could you give me some tips as to how we can feature in the wiki without breaking the editorial rules per se.

I'd really like some feedback and will await a timeous response. Email me at <email removed by User:Peruvianllama>. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fortunelounge (talkcontribs) 08:51, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
