AA warning[edit]

G'day, as you have started edit warring on your first few edits, this is a formal warning that if you continue the practise on any article about Armenia-Azerbaijan topics, you will be put under restricted editing.

In case you havent been following the Azeri-Armenian dispute here on Wikipedia since you registered in 2007, you should catch up by reading Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Armenia-Azerbaijan 2#Final decision thoroughly.

As you have now been warned, the next time an admin sees you editing in a forceful manner, you will be placed under formal editing supervision, as described in Amended Remedies and Enforcement. This isnt a slap on the wrist; it is serious, but it isnt targeted at you personally. The edit supervision of editors in this topical area is a means to police editors who prove unable to control themselves.

This warning is procedural in nature. If you have any questions, please let me know. John Vandenberg (chat) 17:43, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Azad Mirzajanzade[edit]

Azad Khalil oglu Mirzajanzade (Azerbaijani: Azad Xəlil oğlu Mirzəcanzadə; Russian: Азад Халилович Мирзаджанзаде)(September 29, 1928 - July 17, 2006) was a prominent Azerbaijani scientist who made fundamental contributions to the fields of Theoretical Mechanics and Technological processes of oil & gas production. Azad Mirzajanzade started his studies at the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute (present Azerbaijan State Oil Academy) at the age of 15. During his studies Mirzajanzade demonstrated an extraordinary scientific talent and analytical skills. His research at university resulted in the proposal of a new equation (widely known as "Mirzajanzade formula") which significantly improved the understanding of the hydrodynamics of viscoplastic and viscous fluids. Mirzajanzade's thesis made him one of the pioneers in this newly developing scientific discipline. After graduating from the Azerbaijani Industrial Institute with the degree in Mining Engineering in 1949, Mirzajanzade continued his studies and obtained a degree of a Doctor of Techical Sciences in just two years. Both doctorate dissertation of the young scholar entitled "Elements of Hydraulics of Argillaceous Solutions" and his postdoctorate thesis on the "Problems of Hydro-mechanics of Visco-plastic and Viscous Liquids" became classic works in the field of Theoretical Mechanics. In 1962 Dr. Mirzajanzade was elected as a Corresponding Member of the Academy of Science of Azerbaijan SSR for his contributions in the field of Applied Mechanics. Four years later, at the age of 40, he became a Full Member of the National Academy of Science. Azad Mirzajanzade is known not only for his scientific achievements, but also for his many accomplishments in the field of education. Mirzajanzade started his educational career in 1952 as an Assistant Professor at the Azerbaijan State University, continued as a Professor at the department of Engineering Mechanics, and later became a department chair. In 1959-1962, Dr. Mirzajanzade headed the "Engineering Mechanics" department, and from 1962 to 1997 - "Development and Exploitation of Oil and Gas fields" department at the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy. During this period Dr. Mirzajanzade supervised more than 300 Philosophy Doctors and over 120 Doctors of Science. "Mirzajanzade's law", "Mirzajanzade's equation", "School of Mirzajanzade" became widely used expressions among scientists specializing in Mechanics, Hydrodinamics, Reservoir and Petroleum Engineering. Throughout his career of a researcher and teacher, Mirzajanzade produced 373 scientific publications and obtained 54 patents and certificates of authorship. His achievements were recognized with some of the highest awards including 3 Gubkin Prizes, one of the highest prizes in oil and gas science in the USSR; the State Prize of Azerbaijan SSR for a series of works on the "Mechanics of Technological Processes in Oil and Gas Production" (1980); the prize from the Council of Ministers of the USSR for "The Creation and Organization of Serial Production and the Introduction of New Tamping Materials in Oil and Gas Wells" (1986)
