You're an administrator, Sir; surely you know what you're doing. Was this edit perhaps made with tongue in cheek (rather in the spirit of the subject of the article)? Look up editions of this published in the last 20 years, and you (or anyway I) see them in French, English, Dutch, German, Chinese, Slovenian, Italian, Spanish, Romanian, Portuguese and Finnish. Which I venture to suggest is unusual for a work written in the 1870s. -- Hoary (talk) 04:43, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

The article has no references which establish its subject as notable given the criteria we use at Wikipedia, documented at WP:NBOOKS. Being translated to several langauges is not mentioned in the topic, and not among those criteria, anyhow. -- Mikeblas (talk) 14:49, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Phoenix reversions

You tag my page, after you first broke WP:3RR? Hmmm. Methinks this might be an abuse of your admin privileges. I reverted the third time, not realizing it was in a 24 hour period, yet it was after your 3rd revert in a 24 hour period. I've asked you to allow the community to reach a consensus, I am unsure why you have an issue with waiting for consensus. Might I point you to WP:TOOLMISUSE, particularly the first bullet point. Might I suggest you revert your abusive edits on my talk page? Thank you.Onel5969 (talk) 23:20, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

I reverted twice each time. Feel free to edit your talk page in any way you see fit; its your talk page. It's probably best to raise issues about edits to the topic on the talk page of the topic rather than here so the conversation doesn't become fragmented. -- Mikeblas (talk) 00:38, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
Well, since I followed your edits, using your methodology, that would mean I reverted "twice each time", which would mean that you really are abusing your admin privileges. However, the rule clearly states, "An editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page—whether involving the same or different material—within a 24-hour period. An edit or a series of consecutive edits that undoes other editors' actions—whether in whole or in part—counts as a revert." If you look at the history, you'll see that you made 3 reverts, 1 on 12/23 (15:54), and 2 on 12/24 (1:32 and 15:26), but all within a 24 hour period. Since I did not realize that I had entered into a 3RR, as per the guidelines, I've reverted, I suggest you do the same. And no, I'll leave your abuse of admin privileges up on my talk page.
