Battle of the Atlantic[edit]

Hi, I have just taken out the paragraph that you added to Battle of the Atlantic. This probably seems a very unfriendly thing to do, but please do not be disheartened. The section Assessment starts with a paragraph that presents 2 points of view among experts (reliable sources: WP:RS). Giving more detail on just once of those points of view alters the balance (WP:BALANCE).

I note, also, that you used a source written in 1977. Many editors on Wikipedia use readily-available older sources (as through google books) - but I always think that if a source is available there, the copyright owners realise they have a low value asset - so there must be a better source. Also, 1977 is only 3 years after the British government had acknowledged the code-breaking work done at Bletchley Park - so that is not much time for historians to carry out research on what actually happened in the battle of the Atlantic, and then publish a book on it.

I think, however, that your addition of some "citation needed" templates is entirely appropriate.ThoughtIdRetired (talk) 08:43, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
