I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Image copyright problem with Image:Kenny_Lunt.jpg[edit]

The Man Gubba[edit]
Hi Skully, nice one for getting involved in the Tony Gubba page. FYI I've taken down some of the links you posted, per Wikipedia guidelines at WP:CONTEXT which indicates that internal links should only point to articles which are relevant to the context of the article. In the case of Tony Gubba things like BBC and Match of the Day are but 1943 and Manchester aren't especially, the WP guideline should make it all a bit clearer. Phil Collins Template[edit]
Hey there, although I like the general lay-out of the Phil Collins template and think it could work for his singles, albums, and eventual tours, I think the first part with all the names is a bit excessive. It gives the appearance that all those people were vital parts of Collins' career, so including Sting and Eric Clapton -- who only recorded with him a handful of times -- among a host of other random names seems out of place. Personally, I think we could eliminate the vast majority of that part, if not all of it. Thanks for making the template. --Ataricodfish 16:47, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

- If You think it looks better then go ahead and change it, I did rush it a little. I was gonna start on the Serious Hits...Live album soon, but I think I'll leave out the singles till I've finished all articles for Phil's Singles (Also If I've missd anything out on the last few articles go ahead and chnage them). I also beleive that these would be appropriate additions to the template:
- Bands Phill Was In (Genesis, Band X, Flaming Youth and possibly the Phil Collins Big Band))
- Hugh Pagham (However you spell it :p)

- Hey there, I think it's very much improved now. I just thought the prior box was a bit excessive, but I'm glad a Phil Collins template is now there as I've toyed with the idea of creating one in the past. I agree that Phil Collins Big Band should be added to the list of bands, so I put it in. I also added a "Complete Discography" link at the end of the studio albums to link to Phil Collins discography. All in all, though, I think the template is fine -- I would also keep the Hot Night in Paris album in the template, as it's more associated with Phil that as a seperate group. - Thanks for the kind words. It was my first real attempt at a main article, so I was happy to see the article approved with little difficulty. I fixed up the Platinum Collection article a little, only because it contained some POV statements and grammar errors, but there really isn't much to add to the article since its just a collection of prior albums. I don't know if the collection reached the US, so I can't comment or verify the sales information and that will likely need a source. Phil Collins' singles[edit]
Hey there, I just read your message in regards to the Collins' singles. Now that I've gotten the main article to featured status, I'm not going to be touching too many of the other articles. However, I'll be glad to take a look at some the articles and correct any spelling, grammar, and other info as I find them. Just as an FYI, be sure to call him "Collins" in your articles and not "Phil", for example, "Collins had the number one single" instead of "Phil had the number one single". "Phil" makes it sound like you are friends. "Collins" sounds more encyclopedic. Best of luck with your additions to Wiki. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. Futurama Episode Pages[edit]
I notice you have recently made a large number of edits to the Futurama episode pages mostly adding wiki links. While I appreciate the help with the episode pages (I am currently revising one page a day) I wonder if it is necessary to link every word in the article that happens to have a wiki page. For example words like "puppy" or "Cigar" likely don't require a link for most readers. Also I notice that most wikipedia pages do not add links for every use of the word, for example if the word Blackjack is used multiple times in one paragraph one might only link to the blackjack article the first time it is mentioned. I was considering removing some of the links (and I may still in the future) however I wanted to ask you first if there was a reason you added them (perhaps an official policy I am not aware of) and if you felt them to be completely necessary (meaning you would add them back if I removed them, which seems like a waste of both our times). No offense is meant, they just seemed like odd additions to me so I thought I'd check with you rather than change them. Stardust8212 20:41, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

F1 portal featured article[edit]
The F1 portal (in which I assume you have some degree of interest, as your name is listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject_Formula_One) is intended to have a regular rotation of a 'featured article'. I've swapped a few in and out over the last couple of months, but I think it would be better if there were more of a community attempt at deciding this, proposals, votes, that kind of thing. In the Air Tonight[edit]
Skully, my apologies for the late response. I've not touched Wiki for about a month except for a brief grammar correction, so I haven't been too helpful to anyone or for your request to review the "In the Air Tonight" article. I'll attempt to take a look at it soon. The Phil Collins article is expected to be on the main page June 13, so I'm going to be giving the article a little bit of extra attention to clean up some of the recent grammer errors and such brought to the article lately so that it looks pretty for the main page. Selected articles on Portal:F1[edit]
Obviously you know this, but this is what I'm dropping round on other's pages:
I dropped notes round a while back to those who have listed themselves at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Formula_One to ask for suggestions for selected articles on portal:Formula One. There was a pretty good response, both in terms of how it might work and of articles suggested. Damon Hill came out with the most support and was brought up to Good Article standard after a lot of work by Skully Collins and others before going on as the F1 portal selected article a couple of weeks ago. It is now at Featured Article Candidates as a Featured Article candidate (why not drop by and see if you can help polish it further?).
Several people who responded to the original request suggested that a monthly or bi-weekly 'Selected Article' could act as a catalyst for an improvement drive to get more articles up to a higher standard. Although it wasn't quite what I had in mind when I started, this seemed to work pretty well for the Damon Hill article, so I've drafted up a process for doing this more regularly. See Portal_talk:Formula_One/Management_of_selected_articles for details. Essentially the suggestion is that we vote for an article to improve every couple of weeks and at the end of the improvement process the article goes on the portal as the new 'Selected Article'. I'd be grateful for any comments on how this might work - I'm sure some of you are more familiar with things 'Wiki' than me - as well as your votes for the next candidate (by 16 July).
You may also want to help with the article Gilles Villeneuve, which was the next most popular after Damon Hill. The idea is to try and get it up to GA standard by 16 July and then put it on the portal as the 'Selected Article'. I hope you can help! 4u1e 18:24, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Flattered that you think my copyediting's that good! Let me know when you feel you're ready and I'll go over the article (Just be glad I'm not as picky as some people - the real grammar fanatics seem to steer away from the sport articles!).
Regarding the results table, I've got the same concern for Brabham. I think it's going to be best to do it as a separate page. You need to have all the results to be comprehensive, but then it's too big to go in the main article. You could summarise the highlights in a short table - but then the team infobox does that anyway, so maybe there's no need. 4u1e 18:09, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Last five years and a seperate main article for results sounds like a good plan. Question is, does that work for Brabham, which 'died' in 1992.....4u1e 07:05, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
- 1962! So it's the same problem as for Williams. From a historical perspective there's no particular relevance to Brabham's last five years (They didn't even compete in 1988), whereas for a current team the last five years gives you the current 'form' for the team. I think I'll go for some kind of summary, perhaps just of wins and championship finishes, with a main article for the full results. 4u1e 07:11, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi Skully, I noticed you're a big Collins/Genesis fan. I've been working on the Land of Confusion article, and someone recently split off the entire section on Disturbed's cover version. Dean Ashton[edit]

Williams F1[edit]
Hi. While I have had major disagreements with the editor in question, I have to say I don't see a major problem here. The original text was "Schumacher, knowing his rival was about to over-take him and probably take the title, rammed Hill in a desperate attempt to save his championship." That is blatant POV. Opinion is more divided over 1994 than 1997. "To this day, Schumacher pleads innocence, but many F1 fans believe that Schumacher caused the accident intentially" is an example of weasel words. To include this you would need to say something like "a poll by F1 Racing (September 2010) found that 62% of readers believed it to be a deliberate attempt by Schumacher." I've mentioned the controversy, with critcism and defence of Schumacher. Mark83 17:12, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the message. Having read it, I have to admit my own slipup: I didn't notice the game actually allows the player to tune the car during the actual driving, since Need for Speed games between Need for Speed II and Porsche Unleashed, to my present memory, only allow this in their main menus. This would make it a notable change in the series if this is a first, hence its eligibility for inclusion in the article. That being said, I would be happy to write a bit about this again, but I need to verify if Hot Pursuit 2 and the Underground series have Most Wanted in-race tuning menu.
