You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

The article Portlandia (Micronation) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organized event, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:58, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from David III of Tao into Speri (historical region). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 15:58, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I see you are still not adding the required attribution, as required under the terms of the CC-by-SA license. Please have a look at this edit summary as an example of how it is done. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Battle of Didgori, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Kipchak and Approximately (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Copyright problem on Battle of Didgori[edit]

Some of content you added to the above article appears to have been copied from http://www.armchairgeneral.com/miraculous-victory-battle-of-didgori-1121.htm/2 or elsewhere. Copying text directly from a source is a copyright violation. Unfortunately, for copyright reasons, some of the content had to be removed. All content you add to Wikipedia must be written in your own words. Please leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 00:24, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Georgian expedition to Chaldia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/doi/10.2307/2846872. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:38, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I originally considered simply leaving this notice, without undoing your edit, to give you time to add a dummy edit to provide the proper attribution. However, after glancing at several recent posts on this page I see that you have a number of instances where you have violated copyright guidelines, so I've chosen to revert your edit. You are free to do it if you can do it correctly but respecting copyright is important.--S Philbrick(Talk) 22:25, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Georgian military campaigns over Armenian lands until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Changes on Seljuk Empire[edit]

Your recent change on the Seljuk Empire includes:

Yet, according to Historical Dictionary of Georgia, by Alexander Mikaberidze, pages 524 & 585, Alp Arslan was not at the Battle of Partskhisi. This battle was fought by the amirs of Ganja, Dvin and Dmanisi against the Georgians. Which in turn brought about a Seljuq invasion by Amir Ahmad who defeated the Georgians at the battle of Kvelistsikhe.(Mikaberidze, p.585)

Be sure that when you change information that it has a reliable source and that the information is supported by said source. --Kansas Bear (talk) 03:44, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Alp Arslan, the son of Chaghri Beg, along with Nizam al-Mulk, he then marched into Armenia and Georgia, which he conquered in 1064."

using this source Bosworth 1968, p. 62-65. Which book exactly by Bosworth in 1968 are you referencing? --Kansas Bear (talk) 04:09, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copy and Pasting[edit]

Justs a heads-up that while I clearly goofed, if you copy and paste (or cut and paste) from one Wikipedia article to another, rules require you to source the text. This can generally be done in an edit summary and would have looked something like, "Text in this article copied from Kakheti. See that article for attribution." It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Request reason:

I acknowledge my copyvio violations and already have read wikipedia's copyvio policy. Since I was blocked, I have used two accounts (those were Reavici and Lazicum) only to create brand new articles carefully, without violetating wikipedia's copyvio policy, however I got banned on both account for being associated to Georgiano's account. Hope I still have chance to resume my contribution into this community. That was all what I wanted to say. Georgiano (talk) 18:38, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Any successful unblock request is going to need to be considerably more substantial than this. Whist 'fessing up to the abuse of multiple accounts goes some way towards restoring the community's trust in you, you need to provide a demonstrable understanding of how copyright works on Wikipedia if you wish to be unblocked. Simply claiming that you've read the policy gives us no indication as to whether you understand it or not. Yunshui  20:14, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thanks for your reply. It seems I got blocked on my other accounts for ambiguous reasons. The "sockpuppetry" is a wider term and I don't want to be labeled for anything more than alt account creation, despite being blocked on my main account. Those accounts were solely for creation new articles and not for illegal activities (such as promoting my opinions etc). If these accounts are suspected for illegal activities, I take full responsibilities for them. Now what concerns to copyvio violetation, as I already stated I acknowledge it and appricate @Diannaa's intentions. Next time I will avoid plagiarism and simply try to write texts with my words (paraphrasing) using references and quotations in accordance to Wikipedia. Georgiano (talk) 04:03, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Paraphrasing is not sufficient to avoid WP:COPYRIGHT violations. See WP:PARAPHRASE. It also deeply disturbs me that you have written, below, "I just wanted to underline the fact that, except creating new accounts (which is against Wikipedia policy and I am clearly aware of it) I did not violetated other Wikipedia laws". Not only is block evasion a clear violation of WP:SOCK and WP:EVADE (as you appear to acknowledge) but you seem to be minimising your violations of WP:COPYRIGHT, which is what lead to the original block. Either your only violations were WP:SOCK and WP:EVADE, or you also put the entire Wikipedia project at risk with your violations of WP:COPYRIGHT. Look, there is a path forward here, but you need to stop minimising your violations and take the time to thoroughly read and understand the policies we've been linking you to. Block evasion - the creation of new accounts to circumvent a block - is regarded as one of the most egregious abuses of multiple accounts that you can commit. These were not "alternate accounts", they were systematic abuse of Wikipedia's community policies. The fact that you do not seem to understand this makes the apparent remorse in your previous unblock request ring extremely hollow. Yunshui  09:07, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • From my latest application I just wanted to underline the fact that, except creating new accounts (which is against Wikipedia policy and I am clearly aware of it) I did not violetated other Wikipedia laws.

The only reason I confess my deeds here is that I want to return in this community, gain some trust or reputation and respect its laws.Georgiano (talk) 10:00, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Shirvanese–Georgian relations requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

Liz Read! unblock request[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Georgiano (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

It's been almost two years since my last unblock request, and I'm still here to try my last attempt at getting back into this community. I became aware of all my misconduct related to my copivio violations and I am very sorry about that. As I mentioned earlier, I also used two of my socks to create new articles, despite the constraints I received as a result of my irresponsible activities. I acknowledge that this could be classified as an attempt of Evad, but it was unintentional and I was unaware of the existence of such a rule. This was in part also due to my age: as a teenager, I didn't really care about communicating with users/moderators and didn't read warning messages properly. The restrictions were actually painful, but they've helped me improve in several ways. I have not left Wikipedia account due to restrictions in the hopes of returning to the English Wikipedia community. I have established myself on in other language Wikipedias. I can say that my editing skills as well as my understanding of Wikipedia rules have improved over time. I became more communicative and cautious. During all this time, I have created many articles with this account in other languages, without violating the copyright policy. I understand that Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia, which actually has a special mission of educating people. Most importantly it has its own policy. Any user who joins this community becomes part of Wikipedia and must follow guidelines to not only respect people's property rights, but also avoid legal problems for the community. The content itself can be divided into non-free and public domain. There are different ways to use non-free content to avoid copyvio. The first thing is proper attribution. The text can be supported by quotations in the footnotes, but it should be very short. Nonfree content can be paraphrased, but close paraphrasing should be avoided, which also increases the probability of copyright infringement. Georgiano (talk) 07:19, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 12:21, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Yamla (talk · contribs). I do not use any other account other than this one, and will never use in the future. Is there a risk of my request being rejected or has it already been rejected? What can I do to rehabilitate myself? Georgiano (talk) 07:02, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Your request has not yet been reviewed. I'm leaving notes that should generally count in your favour, for the reviewing admin. --Yamla (talk) 10:26, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, thanks for the answer.
To the reviewing Administrator: in case if my request is approved, I promise to review all articles I have created and eliminate any sign of copyvio violations as well as improve them in accordance to Wikipedia rules. Georgiano (talk) 10:42, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hi Georgiano - I'm happy to be an appeal reviewer here, but it's got a few facets so could take a bit. Firstly, given the nature of your unblock requests to date, and the fact that admitting something 15 months ago wouldn't really have been an issue, I'm actually inclined to believe you regarding the 2020 Feb socking - at least, I'm going to discount it and focus on other issues. Your activity on other projects is certainly a positive to hear, but since you picked up 3 temporary or limited blocks on them last year, it will require some review before I can determine to what degree they're a true positive. I will also have a look at whether I feel your understanding of copyright is sufficiently clear. I would note that I acknowledge that this could be classified as an attempt of Evad [sic] concerns me - every administrator is going to classify it as a direction evasion, no ifs and no buts. Personally I'm not quite sure why you could think you were blocked but creating another account would be fine, but anyway. Nosebagbear (talk) 22:04, 30 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Diannaa: @Yamla: I strongly suspect this IP[9] of being operated by user:Georgiano.
