Your works are beautiful as always! But I have two requests for you, could you remove the white areas in the center of the "Fencing Barnstar Hires" and insert a stellar cruiser (like this, like this, like this or like this) at the center of the barnstar in "BoNM - Galactic Republic Hires"?
Thank you Angelus (talk) 17:57, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Done At the request of fans stellar cruiser added --Antonu (talk) 07:04, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Great job! However, could you remove the white areas in the center of the "Fencing Barnstar Hires" and the black area between the wings of the stellar cruiser? Thank you Angelus (talk) 14:16, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
Glad you like my job. I dont see white parts in the Fencing Barnstar. You mean the places that I noted in red? If yes, they are transparent already. And about the ship, I can not remove this shadow. Moreover, is seems to me that with shadow looks even better. --Antonu (talk) 16:38, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

I entered all the Barnstars in the Italian Wikipedia, but I don't know how to insert the Water Polo Barnstar and the Starfish Barnstar in the English Wikipedia. Angelus (talk) 13:49, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi there! Now I realize that the shade you had in mind. Then I did not notice it. Of course, it was necessary to remove the shadow, I redid the layout and unloaded a clearer version. --Antonu (talk) 16:30, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
Not quite sure what exactly the problem with the Water Polo Barnstar and the Starfish Barnstar barnstars...Problem with creating a template? --Antonu (talk) 16:33, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
I don't know where I can insert them and I don't know what to write in the description. xD Angelus (talk) 17:39, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
Understood. Water Polo Barnstar can be inserted here. Description: Wikipedia:WikiProject Swimming/Water polo work group. Starfish Barnstar can be inserted here. Description: Wikipedia:WikiProject Biology. --Antonu (talk) 19:29, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Alt barnstars

Hi Antonu,

With help from User:RobinHood70 at Wikipedia:WikiProject Templates, I have updated most of the barnstar templates that weren't working for WP:Barnstars 2.0 so that they work now correctly now. It wasn't too complicated, and you can see what changes are necessary in this diff if you want to do it yourself for future designs. It should just be a matter of copying the line out of the diff and replacing the file names. (And then maybe making a second, separate, basically useless edit, like adding or removing a space, to get your computer to show the changes properly.)

Thanks for your beautiful work. WhatamIdoing (talk) 01:05, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

Just for the record, the second edit can actually just be clicking "Save Page" literally without doing anything at all, or using the Purge function if you know how to do that (the most common method is if you have the clock UI Gadget installed, just click on it). The latter is preferable, but I wasn't thinking of that at the time I mentioned it to WhatamIdoing (sorry).
While I'm here, I'd like to second WhatamIdoing's compliments...you really have an excellent artistic eye! RobinHood70 talk 03:24, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the info, I'll have it in mind. And thanks for the compliment!--Antonu (talk) 16:32, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

How do you do it?

I was trying to play around with making a new US national merit barnstar (stars over stripes, ala shield on presidential shield), and I can't figure out how in the heck you get the ripple effect. I'm using Gimp, but have given up. So how do you do it? VIWS talk 09:20, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm working in Photoshop, and you can get the ripple effect using layer options. Here's the PSD photoshop file with that effect. By the way, I can make barnstar for you, just let me know what exactly do you need. You can also upload your Gimp result to any free photo hosting, give me the link, and I'll remaster your barnstar with ripple effect. --Antonu (talk) 09:32, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
You know, I got so mad I went back and tried to figure out how to make my own mask, and I think it came out pretty good. You can catch it at File:BoNM_USA_Hires_alt.png. The flag just doesn't seem to quite fit in that horizontal direction, even though I compressed it about 80% in the vertical. Ah well. Let me know what you think. VIWS talk 10:34, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

PS, I made hires versions of the Industrial and Reviewers' barnstars at File:Industrial Barnstar Hires.png and File:Reviewer's_Barnstar_Hires.png. I'll have a look at the templates to see about getting them in as alts. VIWS talk

Yeah, that was easy. VIWS talk 10:52, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Barnstar

We are looking to create a barnstar similar to the tireless contributor barnstar for WikiProject Wikify. Can you take File:Tireless Contributor Barnstar Hires.gif and create it with File:Ultimate Wikification Barnstar.png. Basically we would like the star to rotate inside the wikilink brackets. Ryan Vesey Review me! 04:04, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Hello, I can propose your the following types type 1 and type 2. I do not support the creation of animated stars. I would like to make all others barnstars in a non-animated style. --Antonu (talk) 19:45, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
I actually like those two proposals, Ryan. What do you think? We could use both (first for highest word count, second for first place overall). Swarm u | t 05:32, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Here are 5 types:
Bronze - 10-29 articles
Silver - 30-59 articles
Gold - 60-89 articles
Platinum - 90 or more articles
Ultimate - to the person who wikifies the article with the highest word count in each drive.
Let me know which one you like and I will upload it to commons in high-resolution png. --Antonu (talk) 07:30, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

I would be in favor of Bronze for 30-59, Silver for 60-89, Gold for 90 or more, Platinum for leaderboard, and Ultimate for both a first place appearance and for the editor who wikifies the article with the highest word count. Ryan Vesey Review me! 16:24, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Alright, thanks, Anton, we'll decide on the details and get back to you. Swarm u | t 17:12, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I have a few more requests if you don't mind. :) First, do you think you could manage to make a barnstar like the "ultimate" one above, that includes a trophy of some kind (or something like that)? (struck, we're going to do with a non-barnstar award, I think) Second, could you do a 2.0 version of the Iron star? It would be greatly appreciated. Other than that, I'm pretty sure we'll be using all of the above. :) Thank you, Swarm u | t 19:50, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Done Iron. --Antonu (talk) 07:38, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

Gulag

Hi, Antonu. You are one of editors who write the article ГУЛаг in the Russian Wikipedia. In this article, its editors used Igor Pykhalov’s article “Каковы масштабы «сталинских репрессий»?” which is located on the website praising Stalin and is not published in any academic journal. One of editors who write the article Gulag in the English Wikipedia, said: “This source seems hardly reliable. We have good quality English sources that tell about 14 million passed through the camps, and 4-5 through the colonies.” However, in the article ГУЛаг, the statement “Таким образом, опираясь на приведённые архивные данные ОГПУ — НКВД — МВД СССР, можно сделать вывод: за 1920—1953 годы через систему ИТЛ прошло около 10 млн человек” is still based on Pykhalov’s article. By the way, from the article about Игорь Пыхалов in the Russian Wikipedia, I have got to know that he is not a historian. Psychiatrick (talk) 23:50, 7 August 2011 (UTC)

Surprisingly, one of his writings was included in Federal List of Extremist Materials, probably because that was a court in Ingushetia. What a list!. I especially like the quote from Thomas Jefferson as justification of the list. Biophys (talk) 02:27, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
Hello! Yes, I am interested in this topic. Pyhalov is just a politically engaged writer, he is not a historian, and therefore can not be considered an authoritative source. I want to note a significant shift in the Russian Wikipedia in the direction of pro communist positions. I'm planning a substantial processing of the article "Gulag", in particular the removal of references of that publicist. --Antonu (talk) 14:36, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

New Barnstars of National Merit

Hi, Antonu. I've been looking at what people have been adding to some Central Asian pages and would like to give out a barnstar of national merit or two... but they don't exist yet for some of these countries. Here are the missing countries of Central Asia, with a link to their flag on the Commons:

Kyrgyzstan

Tajikistan

Turkmenistan

Uzbekistan

The rest of the Asian countries without a barnstar are:

Bahrain

Brunei

Iraq

Jordan

Kuwait

Laos

Malaysia

Maldives

Nepal (difficult...)

Oman

Qatar

Singapore

Sri Lanka

Syria

Timor-Leste

I know doing them all would entail a lot of work, so don't worry about the latter list. I just dream of seeing the whole globe covered one day. It would be an honour to be one of the first to give these out if you do create them.

Thanks, Antonu. PhnomPencil (talk) 15:15, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Hi! No problem, I will create the missing barnstars. May I also ask you to create the templates for new barnstars and the description for them here? --Antonu (talk) 16:19, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Of course! I'll copypasta an existing barnstar's template with the new image and country name so everything is standardized. Do as many missing ones as you want; I'll make the templates for you. PhnomPencil (talk) 02:53, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Ok. Agree, it's worth it. --Antonu (talk) 14:11, 5 November 2011 (UTC)
