Laolong downtown ( Simplified_Chinese_characters: 老隆镇） Laolong Downtown is located in the northwestern of Guangdong Province. It covers over 15 square meters. Terrain northeast Gao Xina low, surrounded on three sides by mountains and faces the East River in the west. And there are about 12 million people live in Laolong downtown. Today, there are 8 neighborhood committees and 1 village committee in Laolong.It's the central downtown of Longchuan county.[2]

Laolong downtown is located in the northwestern of Longchuan County.It's the central downtown of Longchuan county. And it’s also the center of the politics, economy, and transportation in Longchuan County. Its area is about 15.4 square meters. And the population of Laolong downtown is near to 120,000 in which the floating population is more than 20,000.[3]
History[edit]
In the ancient China, Laolong has been a place accumulating swarms of businessmen. The government of Longchuan County had been located in Laolong downtown for 65 years. It's said that Laolong was a fort of Longchuan county when Zhao Tuo defended tenaciously in Qing dynasty.
The name of this downtown had been changed from Laolong to Laolong.(the pronounce is the same, but the Chinese character is different)[1]
Language[edit]
The dialect of Laolong downtown is Hakka (also called Hakka language).Since the accent of hakka is different from places to places, the dialect of Laolong is different,so does the Laolong's dialect. Most of the people in Laolong communicate with hakka. Track back to the history, the Shan'ge(also called Hakka hill song) were famous and popular in the Laolong. You still can hear someone singing it if you walk along the river in the morning. But most of them are old men and old women, who would walk along the river in the morning. The Shan'ge is interesting and sometimes funny especially when they sing in duet, because the lyrics are created impromptu.
Economy[edit]
Laolong downtown insists in making economic development for our central task, and follows the Deng Xiaoping Theory and the Scientific Outlook on Development. It focus on the increasing farmers' income and deppen the reform,and the opening up, which aims to reach the social stability. After a long time of hard work, Laolong makes a great progress finally.In 2004, the GDP of Laolong is about 6.13 billion, including total industrial output value which is about 3.33 billion, the total value of agricultural output which is about 751 million, and the total value of tertiary industry which is about 2.73 billion.What's more the fiscal revenue is about 461 million, while the rural per capita net income(PCNIRH）isabout 5586 yuan. Transportation[edit]
For Laolong is the center of Longchuan County, the transportation here is more flourishing than other downtown. In the wiki, some described the transport in Longchuan with those words: “Longchuan has a developed highway and railway network. Major roads include the China National Highway 205 (G205) and Guangdong Provincial Highway 120 (S120). The Beijing–Kowloon, Guangzhou–Meizhou–Shantou and Zhangping–Longchuan Railways intersect in Longchuan, making it an important railway hub for the Lingnan region.”
(The railway station is located in Laolong downtown). What’s more, there are 3 stations, which drive to other cities or counties, in Laolong. As for the public buses that go round the downtown, there are only 3 buses, which only cost 1 RMB to take you all the way. However, there nearly no bus that can take you to another county, because there are lots of personal business in transport.
