Engagement and Use Manager of the American Archive of Public Broadcasting

About me:[edit]

Greetings! I am a staff member of the nonprofit American Archive of Public Broadcasting (AAPB). Under Wikipedia's GLAM category, professionally affiliated with an institution in the cultural sector (such as a museum, library, archive, public art gallery or similar) "are a custodian of our cultural heritage, which places you [them] in a unique position to improve Wikipedia." I am collaborating with the Wikimedia Foundation to encourage the growth and development of free content, and to provide content of wiki-based projects to the public free of charge, and I wish to be respectful of the platform by contributing edits that strengthen Wikipedia's encyclopedic knowledge.

About the American Archive of Public Broadcasting and my role:[edit]

The American Archive of Public Broadcasting (AAPB) is a collaboration between the Library of Congress and WGBH to digitally preserve and make accessible historically significant public radio and television programs from across the nation spanning the past 70+ years. I work to support this mission by helping to organize outreach and engagement opportunities that make the holdings of the AAPB more accessible to the public. When I edit Wikipedia as part of my duties, I strictly abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflicts of interest, neutrality, and notability. While my editing spans many categories, I edit primarily under the umbrella of topics covered by public media archives, and improve the public's searchability and access to American's public media history. I will modify my editing behavior based on any issues brought to my attention by other editors.

Disclaimer: I work for the American Archive of Public Broadcasting and this is the account I use for edits and statements I make in that role.
