A little about me[edit]
Heya. I'm Gemma Bagshaw from Leeds in the UK.
I am studying History at the University of Leeds, and through a research scholarship I was awarded there, am presently working with Dr Kevin Linch on his project focusing on Soldiers and Soldiering in Britain 1750-1815. The project website can be found at http://redcoats.ning.com/. In particular I'm starting to study the lives of British soldiers during the 18th century. I have created the Wikipedia page British_soldiers_in_the_eighteenth_century! The project will carry on for a couple of years, hopefully culminating in the creation of a project pack to be used in schools and for the general public.
Not only do I have an interest in 18th century military history, but I am a keen Egyptologist and am fascinated by Ancient Egyptian history and archaeology. Currently studying Black Politics, Anglo-Norman History and the Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union in my second year.
