Youth For Seva (YFS) is an India Based Non-Profit Organization (Registered under 80G / 12A/ Foreign Contribution Regulation Act-FCRA ) that was founded in 2007

YFS focuses on creating and inspiring a culture of individual social volunteering. Effectively, YFS serves as a bridge between individuals, corporates who are keen on volunteering and NGO, Government academic institutions and hospitals which can benefit from their service. YFS provides volunteering activities in the fields of children's education and healthcare and environmental sustainability

YFS's team of facilitators and volunteering mentors train the new volunteers and connect them to community service projects. The projects in which these volunteers are engaged could either be projects owned by YFS or those run by their partner Non-Profit Societies.

YFS has a team of office bearers, administrators and coordinators to ensure that the volunteer engagement is seamless and effective.

A movement with started with less than 10 volunteers, has till date, engaged over 23,000 volunteers across the globe.

Youth for Seva is registered in Bangalore with operations spread across the cities of Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Meerut, Agra, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Surat, Anand, Ahmedabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Warangal, Mysore, Mandya, Belagavi, Hubballi.

Youth for Seva was formed in April 2007. It was started by a group of individuals from diverse professional fields and volunteering experience.

Their objective was to create a movement of social volunteering and a collaboration platform for people interested and prepared to commit volunteering time for a social cause. Their idea was to facilitate people in taking those first steps towards social volunteering, helping them to figure out what they can achieve with their committed time frame and connect them to social projects of their interest

Youth for Seva focuses on social projects in field of Education, children's healthcare and hygiene, Environment and empowering physically challenged students. [2]

Accomplishments and Recognitions[edit]

  • Youth for Seva has engaged over 23,000 volunteers from all parts of the country and world
  • Youth for Seva's volunteers have improved the quality of life and education for over 2,50,000 children
  • Youth for Seva's menstrual hygiene project has benefited over 23,000 adolescent girl students across the country
  • Youth for Seva has adopted over 127 schools across the country.
  • Youth for Seva has distributed over 1,58,000 school kits to students in government schools [3]
  • Youth for Seva's digital library outreach program has over 6000 student beneficiaries
  • Youth for Seva's Vidya Chetana project is supporting education for over 5,500 students.

YFS's contribution and impact in social volunteering has been largely recognized by various governmental and non governmental organizations

  • Youth for Seva is one of the chosen Volunteering partners of NASSCOM
  • In 2012, The Bangalore division of Sankara Eye Hospital recognized and appreciated YFS’s volunteering program.
  • Since 2015, YFS is recognized by GuideStar India and holds GuideStar India's Gold Certification.
  • In 2015, YFS has been recognised by Radio One (India) as a volunteering platform that is providing Outstanding service to the city of Bengaluru
  • In 2016, at Bengaluru Youth Festival, YFS was recipent of the 'Bengaluru Youth Award'.
