Introduction

The Grub Festival is the biggest food festival based in New Delhi. It was originally created in 2012 by four co-founders, Aman Kumar, Arjun Jain, Chaitanya Mathur, and Mani Singh Cheema.

The Grub Festival has made an impact on different people. It is seen as a cultural and social source of entertainment and gathers thousands of newcomers every year. In 2016, 50000 Delhiites attended the event.

With more than 120 food brands to discover and an outstanding line-up of musicians for live music, patrons can also check out the Grub Market where you can try products from up-coming food brands and the Grub Theatre which will showcase live demos by celebrity chefs. Every year, many visitors come to this festival too which makes appears as a social event where people meet and have a good time.

The 2017 Edition

The 2017 edition provided live music performances by Bally Sagoo, Anish Sood, Guru Randhawa, Hari & Sukhmani, and Akhil Sachdeva. The festival also welcomed over 25 new restaurants. Each of these restaurants were pop-ups with distinct ambiance. This year the festival has proudly hosted the Indian Madame Tussauds[[5]] with appart of this attraction the wax statue of Justin Bieber[[6]]. It took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

The restauration venues

In 2016, there were more than 70 restaurants involved in the festival. Each restaurant engaged in the Grub Fest demonstrated their best dishes. In general, it helps people to discover new meals but also allows restaurants to advertise their numerous products. Some restaurants are accustomed to the festival every year such as Koyla Kebab while others are latecomers such as Niche Lounge and Bistro. Niche Lounge also offers a double storeyed food truck. The Grub festival involved more than 120 restaurants in 2017. The Grub festival invited famous restaurants. Some of the headliners are The Uncle Jack's , the Social and the Karim's. The festival doesn't only welcome renowned restaurants but gives also the opportunity to food-trucks to participate. The area where the mini-vans are settled is called the "Grub Mile". An area called the Grub Market invites the visitors to try products from up-coming food brands. One can also find everything there such as sushi, biryani and a selection of interesting cocktails, all in one venue.

Music and Concerts

• The Grub festival is aslo a concerts place. Everyday the Grub Arena stage welcomed artists. The performers were:Peprico Rocknaama Hardy Sandhu[[8]], DJ Saif, Guru Randhawa[[9]], The Local Train[[10]], Bombay Rockers[[11]], Sartek[[12]]

Films and Visuals

• Movie screenings are there every day, watch for Rataouille, Cocktail or Chef. Films are usually related to cooking and are considered as nearly as important as food. This is an interesting activity for families because children can have fun too.

Food Vehicles

• There are also food vehicles such as trucks that ditribute different kinds of beverages and meals. Many of these meals are typically Indian and are served in Grub Trotters.

Here is a compilation of different food trucks.

1. The Burnout Truck: This truck sells Mexican and Italian foods and lets people try european specialities. It also serves vegetable and non-vegetable foods while offering fruit and alcoholic beverages.
2. The Eggjacity Truck: The Eggjacity Truck is considered as being one of the best trucks in the festival. Wraps, Waffles, Pancakes, Crepes and Appetisers. They also serve meat such as Paneer, Butter Chicken, Mutton Wraps.
3. The Lalit Food Truck: The Lalit Food Truck sells primarily Mexican foods and pizzas. This one is administered by a five star hotel.
4. Wanchai by Kylin: Focusing on chinese specialities, this one sells Veg Dimsum, Shanghai Chicken Dimsum and Prawn and Water Chestnut Dimsum.
5. Sushi House Mafia: It is a japanese truck and cooks Sushis.

Sports Entertainment

The Grub Fest is not only known for food and music. In 2016, the festival organised an MMA competition (also known as mixed martial arts) organised by the asian sports league named the Super Fight League. The festival thus appears as a multi-activity envent.

Various Different Participants

Many various restaurants are present during the festival. Therefore, due to its variety, musiciens have also taken part in the festivities. Famous artists such as Peprico, Bombay Rockers, Tarkash and DJ Saif play in the Grub Arena. It seems difficult to take part in the Arena due to the numerous DJ's that ask for recognition. Arjun Jain, one of four co-founders of The Grub Fest says: "It will be the survival of the fittest. The way I see it, it's like the music industry a few years ago. Everyone had artistes and DJs, but only a few, like Sunburn, have survived." [[13]]

Important chefs attending the festival

The Grub Festival also give visitors a chance to watch with their cooking heroes such as chefs Sanjeev Kapoor[[14]], Ranveer Brar [[15]], Vikas Khanna[[16]] and Ajay Chopra, who have become popular due to the MasterChef India[[17]] television show. TV shows like MasterChef. They can taste their dishes which are usually very original and exclusive. The Grub theatre offers the audience numerous cooking demonstrations and mixology (which is the art of preparing mixed drinks) will be hosted by Hoegaarden, Clayton Gracias and Bohca. There are also different stores which are open near the theatres where you can find merchandise concerning the Grub Festival.
