Mohamed Loutfi[edit]

Mohamed Loutfi (Arabic: محمد لطفى) is currently the President and Vice-Chancellor of The British University in Egypt[1][2].

Academic background[edit]

Professor Loutfi holds a Bachelors of Science in Economics and Political Science and a Masters of Science in Information Technology from Alexandria University.

He also studied System Dynamics at the University of Bergen, Norway before attaining his PhD in Systems Thinking from the University of Sunderland, UK. His passion for blending innovation and systems led to his research in Modelling and Simulation of Social Systems, and Nonlinear, Dynamic Feedback Systems.[3]

Career and projects history[edit]

(2021 - present) President and Vice-Chancellor at The British University in Egypt.[4]

(2013 - present) He is also the Founder and Vice President of the Board of the Arab European Leadership Network in Higher Education (ARELEN).[5][6]

(2019 - 2021) Vice-Chancellor’s Special Envoy at Coventry University.[7]

(2012 - 2018) Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff Metropolitan University,[8][9][10] [11] and the first professional in Europe to take part in a global education think tank[12], set up by the Ministry of Education in China to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and start-up education.

(2015) Member of the 2015 Going Global Steering Committee.

(2010 - 2012) Dean for International Development at the University of Wales, Cardiff.[13]
