Born on September 1, 1950, in Vasavad (Saurashtra, Gujarat, India), Mr Iqbal Memon Officer belongs to a family with a strong religious background, including his late father, Abdul Hamid Salat, and late grandfather, Haji Moosa. Known for his humility, politeness, and down-to-earth nature, Officer's character is shaped by his family values.

Officer engages in extensive travel within India and abroad, participating in charitable causes that address fundamental issues related to health, housing, and employment in communities. His dedication to these causes has garnered recognition, both locally and beyond, marking him as a respected figure within the Memon Community.

Early Life

In 1972, Mr Iqbal Memon Officer embarked on his entrepreneurial journey in Mumbai after arriving from Odisha with only 25 paise in his pocket. Starting as a hawker, his dedication and hard work enabled him to progressively expand his business. Over time, Mr Iqbal Memon Officer successfully owned and operated 100 hawker stalls in Mumbai.

Business Status

In addition to his success in the hawker business, Mr Iqbal Memon Officer established a significant presence in the garment industry, founding the "OFFICER" brand. He presently holds the position of Chairman at "Officer Fashion Craft Pvt Ltd," showcasing his enduring commitment, discipline, and dedication that have been pivotal to his achievements.

Personal Life

In 1969, Mr Iqbal Memon Officer entered matrimony with Sheherbanoo. The couple is blessed with five children—two sons and three daughters—who have since settled in various parts of the world.

Social Life

In times of adversity in Mumbai, Mr. Iqbal Officer faced significant challenges, motivating him to address the difficulties encountered by the less fortunate. Demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility, he actively engages in employing deserving individuals from impoverished backgrounds, contributing to their self-sufficiency and helping alleviate unemployment and poverty in their families.

Mr. Officer's notable contributions extend to his involvement with the All India Memon Jamat Federation since 1975, where he has played various roles, gaining recognition for his significant contributions to the community.

In 2022, he was elected unopposed as the President of the All India Memon Jamat Federation, leading to an expansion of its activities. Mr. Iqbal Officer is recognized for his efforts to address poverty within the community and promote unity among all Jamats, reflecting his ongoing commitment to the welfare and development of his community.

Pioneer of WORLD MEMON DAY

Mr Iqbal Memon Officer is credited with initiating WORLD MEMON DAY, an annual event on April 11th dedicated to celebrating charitable causes.
