On 27 November 2022 (the final match of Vietnamese Cup), Thai Quy scored a spectacular goal in a match against Binh Dinh FC. With Hanoi FC leading 1–0, Thai Quy noticed that Binh Dinh FC's goalkeeper Dang Van Lam was standing a long way out of his goal, and hit a shot from under the halfway line – 75 metters out – that floated over the goalkeeper and into the net.
