St Silas' Church, Blackburn[edit]

- ... that although St Silas' Church in Blackburn, Lancashire, (pictured) was designed in 1878, building did not start until 1894, and the tower was not completed until 1914?

All ok, but rather boring hook. I would try to find something on how rare St Silas is as a dedication. Please remember to italicise as titles subjects in art. Johnbod (talk) 21:44, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- A quick check on A Church Near You suggests it's pretty rare, at least among Anglican churches. Despite several years of searching, I have never yet found a source which gives a decent overview of church dedications, frustratingly. Hassocks5489 (tickets please!) 22:07, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
- I can find nothing in the sources on St Silas. Maybe the hook is not exiting but, in my experience, most churches by this firm of architects were built within a year or two of their planning; that's why this case is unusual. --Peter I. Vardy (talk) 09:09, 13 December 2011 (UTC)
