Interesting article about a fascinating project, based on good-looking sources, accepting foreign and offline sources AGF. - Let's look at ALT1, because ALT0 has too much about the director's ideas for my taste. We will have readers who have no idea that Shostakovitch was a composer, which could be helped by saying "last film score", - unfinished could come later, perhaps. I'd also like to see the years because it's not just 10 ;) - my story today being of a woman who was alive when Debussy was born and recorded music by him in 2023. I'd further like to see the director's name unpiped. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:25, 24 November 2023 (UTC)
You're right about ALT0 saying more about the director. However, I believe readers will be enticed to read it because lay readers will recognize the films, while those familiar with Shostakovich will have their curiosity piqued by his involvement in a project seemingly incongruous with his popular reputation. As I've mentioned to you before, my main focus when devising ALTs is grabbing eyeballs. As for ALT1, "last film score" would be inexact: the work never progressed beyond very preliminary sketches. How about this?
Thank you for ALT2 which I could immediately approve once the qpq is there. I'm open to variations, such as mentioning one of the inspiring films from ALT0 (just not three that have nothing concrete to do with the topic), or the long elapsed time between the first project and the last, or unpiping the last film which has a good interesting title. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:09, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
ps: I think Shostakovitch - like Mozart - is better recognised by last name alone. ("Dmitri" will not help those who don't know him.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:13, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

I forgot about the QPQ! Just remembered now. Hold up a moment, I'll get it done ASAP... —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 00:26, 19 December 2023 (UTC)

- ALT2 preferred --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:29, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
Question: Grigori or Grigory? NotAGenious (talk) 11:55, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
Good question, not only his article, but even the Gogoliad article has Grigori. If Grigory should be preferred, is would have to be a pipe link, as no redirects are permitted from the Main page. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:06, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
For what it's worth, Google Ngrams indicates that "Grigori" is by far the more common rendering of the director's given name.[1] I amended ALT2 accordingly. Sorry for the confusion. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 17:55, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
