US State[edit]

"Virginia is the name of a state in the United States, derived by an expedition by Sir Walter Raleigh."

Raleigh really didn't have anything to do with the state, whatever "derived" may mean in this context. This is also completely irrelevant to this particular Virginia article. Therefore, I will remove this part. Huw Powell (talk) 06:54, 19 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
