Film[edit]

I'm happy to see an article about Valborg Olander! However, shouldn't one make a bit clearer that the 2008 film is not a biographical pic but takes aspects from Lagerlöf's life and weaves them together very liberally for the sake of the plot?

(Note: I'm not disputing the love relationship -- there's indeed ample evidence for it.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marschallin (talkcontribs) 09:37, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the article only mentions this very briefly as it is now:
The relationship between Selma Lagerlöf, Valborg Olander and Olander's rival, the writer Sophie Elkan, was portryayed in a TV Series written by Åsa Lantz in 2008, with Helena Bergström as Selma Lagerlöf, Ingela Olsson as Valborg Olander and Alexandra Rapaport as Sophie Elkan.
As it is now, it only states that these three women (whose relationship is historically accurate: the fact that Elkan was Olanders rival is not historically controversial) is portrayed in the film and by whom, which is enough, as this is not an article about the film. The film should have its own article, were it can be discussed and described more carefully. If the film was a documentary, it would have been stated, but as it is a film, it can be taken for granted that it is not completely accurate in every detail, as films very seldom are. But the film should of course have its own clarifying article! --Aciram (talk) 13:29, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose it depends on what one understands by "portrayed". Marschallin (talk) 23:41, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
