Is it okay to use Spotify as a credible source?[edit]

I added Spotify as source for the latest album, should I use a different source? Jackdrophammer (talk) 07:53, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Spotify is not a reliable source for release dates and release types (album, ep etc.). NyanKatGrrrl (talk) 13:54, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Should I add the official website as the source for the latest album then? I didn't do it earlier as I thought it might be a hassle for a lot of readers to use a translator when navigating the link in the citation. I've ofcourse verified that it was released on april 2022 so the date given on Spotify is not wrong in this case, I don't use Spotify so I'd appreciate why do you think it's not a reliable source. Release dates on Spotify are often incorrect. For example, Spotify says affected released in 2020, when it actually released in 2014 (official site). 2020 is probably when it was added to Spotify. Official site is a good source, it's already used as a general source. This is an article about a Japanese band, so Japanese-language sources are fine. Thank you very much!, I've adjusted the citation accordingly. Jackdrophammer (talk) 17:38, 25 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
