Turks of Rhodes[edit]

My grandparents migrated to the mainland (Izmir-symrna) from Rhodes..I want to work on the topic. But first I should go and see Rhodes :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Z y (talkcontribs) 21:58, 7 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

this article is the page you are diverted to from Dodecanese Muslims on the article Greek Muslims. Is there no such thing historically as a Dodecanese Greek Muslim (I hadnt heard about Greek speaking Muslims until I read that article, but can see why some people might get emotive about such a title and change the article lol)

It's a murky area. Before the modern era, there was a pretty complex mess of identifications, religion, and language, and different terms were used in different contexts. Some of the Muslims in the Dodecanese were indeed Greek-speaking, some Turkish-speaking, and some bilingual. (The same could be said for some of the Christians there.) --Delirium 04:11, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
