Hi. I will review this Good Article nomination. Benny the mascot (talk) 02:43, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Checklist[edit]

GA review (see here for criteria)

I feel that this article needs a lot more work before it can meet Good Article standards.

  1. It is reasonably well written.
    a (prose): b (MoS):
I've decided to not comment on this criterion, because first and foremost I think you should focus on the more important revisions needed to improve this article. After all, this is a relatively easy criterion to pass.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (references): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
Several paragraphs go unsourced, and the History section relies on one source.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
The Extracurricular activities section, along with possibly the Campus and Traditions section, should be expanded.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
The History and Men's basketball sections seem to have a few boosterisms.
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
  6. It is illustrated by images, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free images have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
I agree with Camaron on his C-class review. Perhaps I speak from experience when I say that passing GA requires a lot of work, but certainly is not impossible. Try not to feel discouraged by this review; instead, take it as an opportunity to improve this article and come back in the near future.

I'll contact a GA Review mentor before I close this review. Benny the mascot (talk) 03:12, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The GA Review mentor, Nehrams2020, agrees with my assessment, unfortunately. As he pointed out, it might be helpful to check out school articles that already passed GA--you can see them here...they're great examples! Benny the mascot (talk) 04:22, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
