Did the guy who wrote this read the book?[edit]

Lilly attempts to seduce Roy, who recoils in disgust.

Nonsense! Roy has, in the entire scene, just come around to the realization that he has incestuous desire for Lilly. She asks him, "What can I do to convince you?" and the narration says, "How could he tell her? How say the unsayable?"
