Maybe I'm just missing something but I'm looking at a copy of the 2005 edition of The Cloisters: Medieval Art and ArchitectureISBN978-1-58839-176-6 and page 36 at least in my copy only discusses Enthroned Virgin and Child (67.153) and Apse from San Martin at Fuentidueña (L.58.86). The revised 2012 edition definitely discusses The Crucified Christ on page 82, but I'm not sure how the 2005 edition is being used in this article.
Also neither edition, nor the article in the Met Bulletin seem to suggest It was likely intended to be hung above an altar, as a visible symbol of the sacrifice of the son of god; it would have been seen as a testament to his triumph over death..
