Notability, lack of sources[edit]

If a team wins at a sport it denotes importance within that sport, but not general notability for an encyclopedia. Please see WP:GNG and WP:WHYN

We require "significant coverage" in reliable sources so that we can actually write a whole article, rather than half a paragraph or a definition of that topic. If only a few sentences could be written and supported by sources about the subject, that subject does not qualify for a separate page, but should instead be merged into an article about a larger topic or relevant list.

Perhaps we could merge the various bandy teams into a single article? Otherwise we need significant 3rd party sources to verify notability. Cheers Beakermeep(talk) 19:30, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Another possibility would be to request a translation from the Swedish version: [1] Beakermeep(talk) 19:46, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Bandy is a sport played in numerous countries and in Sweden (as well as in Russia, Finland and Norway) it is one of the most popular spectator sports, followed by general sports media throughout the season. The Swedish championship final is one of the most covered sports events of the year in Sweden, and Slottsbrons IF have won four of these. So the club has enough notability for Wikipedia. Now I have also added some sources. The article is still just a stub, but I hope to be able to expand it eventually. Bandy boy (talk) 13:13, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
