Why do we need this page?[edit]

This was a one-time event and, as such, the little tidbits of information mentioned here can be covered in the 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence. I don't see the need for a separate page. Pinging Adamgerber80, Vanamonde93. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 15:37, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Kautilya3: I'd suggest redirecting this to 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence, and taking it to AfD if the redirect is contested. There's no material for a standalone article here. Vanamonde (talk) 15:42, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Kautilya3 and Vanamonde93: I concur with this. There is not much here for a standalone article. You might want to do a selective merge (or condense this into a single para) to ensure that the key points are covered. Adamgerber80 (talk) 23:32, 1 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Claim about Peshwas[edit]

The article claims

"Under the Peshwas, the caste system was practiced rigidly, and oppression of the lower castes was severe"

I am not aware of any justification for this statement. The Peshwas were indeed Brahmins, however some of the generals under them were the so called "lower caste", for example the Dhangar Holker clan, traditionally cattle grazers, ruled Indore.Malaiya (talk) 00:03, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
