Article/stub redundant[edit]

@Cmguy777, Coemgenus, and LinguistAtLarge: This stub is unnecessary as what little info it offers is already well covered in the main Ulysses S. Grant  and  Presidency of Ulysses S. Grant articles, and in effect, are already merged with the main articles, and should be deleted. For the last eight years, since its creation, this redundant article has remained a stub. Therefore I have proposed its deletion. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 19:46, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I checked the source but it led to an access denied link. I have no issues with the deletion. However, this information could go into Grant's presidency article. Cmguy777 (talk) 02:33, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Without combing through the main article, I'm sure most if not all the info in this article/stub is covered there. In any event, I'm wondering why this article, albeit created in good faith, was even created at all. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 04:43, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
A while back, someone created a bunch of inauguration articles. I'm not sure why, but this one certainly doesn't add anything. Deletion makes sense. --Coemgenus (talk) 14:10, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Necrothesp: Obviously I am not familiar with the finer points involved in the AFD process, as I've never proposed an article for deletion before. However, the reasons for deletion are sort of obvious. Three other articles, Ulysses S. Grant  and  Presidency of Ulysses S. Grant  and  United States presidential election, 1872 already cover the inauguration at length. No need for a fourth article, esp since it offers very little info and has remained a stub since it was created 8 years ago. It doesn't matter that other presidential inaugurations are covered in other articles. Many of them may need to be merged/deleted also, but my only concern is those involving Ulysses S. Grant. There is no "discrimination" here. At your suggestion I have brought the matter to AfD. -- Gwillhickers (talk)
