Advertisements[edit]

When I began listing some of the retail stores at the San Antonio Shopping Center, the idea I had in mind was to list some of the well-known retail stores of the center. But this list has been repeatedly extended and now includes "the least expensive local source of gourmet vegetables and cheeses" and stores from across the road (with external links to their website, but not internal links). Clearly, these are advertisements and have no place in Wikipedia. I am removing a couple stores from the list. If no concensus can be reached, I propose removing the list altogether. Albertson's has closed. A Crown Books reseller has replaced it (partially).

As of 2/26/2007, Sears is remodeling and extending their lease 5 years. Sears will not be closing (hurrah!!). Home Depot's plans to move into the location have been placed on hold. Home Depot's move to this location is controversial since it is considered to be an industrial big box store, which will negatively impact traffic and contribute to noise and air pollution. Home Depot is not considered by nearby residents as a good fit in San Antonio Shopping Center. It is the hope of nearby residents and retailers that Home Depot will abandon their plan to move into the location.
