Not always blue?[edit]

I am struck by the number of times Mary is depicted wearing clothing in a color other than blue, despite the long-standing convention. Is there some significance to this? --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 16:24, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. If there is a lot of blue sky another colour gives a better contrast and balance to the composition. Johnbod (talk) 18:41, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
