Azerbaijani/Turkish name[edit]

He ruled an Turkic-Azerbaijani empire and was a Kipchak turk himself. I don't understand why there shouldn't be Azerbaijani name of him available CuriousGolden (talk) 07:39, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because we don't do historical revisionism in Wikipedia. Kipchak =/= Azeri. --HistoryofIran (talk) 11:03, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

By that logic, what's the reason for his Persian name? He wasn't persian nor ruled a persian empire. CuriousGolden (talk) 15:15, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because Persian was the official language in his domain. Adding Azeri or modern Turkish is pure anachronism/revionism. HistoryofIran (talk)
