When was the Order founded?[edit]

This article says the Order of Saint Lucia was founded in 1980. However, the official site for the Order - http://governorgeneral.govt.lc/honors-and-awards - says it was founded in 1986. I did see that the first recipient was made governor-general in 1980, and originally, one had to be governor-general to get the Grand Cross of Saint Lucia, so maybe there's some confusion there. Or maybe not. When were Boswell Williams or Allen Montgomery Lewis (cited in this article as recipients of the Grand Cross in 1980 and 1982) actually granted their awards? - grant (talk) 16:00, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Colonial-era hereditary titles from St. Lucia[edit]

I should speak to another expert on St. Lucian affairs about an edit I will make. I’d like someone else to know as well so it doesn’t blindside anybody. Faits1789 (talk) 14:54, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The order was founded on the back of the colonial system. St Lucia is only ‘self-determining’ who to make nobility or give rewards to. Faits1789 (talk) 14:55, 19 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
