Contradiction Tag[edit]

Copied from the text to facilitate discussion here (I am not the tagger): "The preceding paragraph defines ficta as conforming to the Guidonian hexachord system, which encompasses both B-flat and B-natural, as explained in the following paragraph. "Single understanding"[edit]

It says:

"Hence, no single understanding of the concept existed in the later Middle Ages and Renaissance."

This appears to mean either "no one really understood it", or "it was understood in different ways". May I suggest the following?

Hence, musicians of the later Middle Ages and Renaissance did not all share a uniform interpretation of this concept. TooManyFingers (talk) 01:54, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
