I believe that the Wulfilan exile and the Arian Christian Gothic communities around Nicopolis (and possibly Beroe), which the monastery was supposedly built to counter-influence, are generally dated to 348, rather then having existed by 344; however, there are certain questions about this and Thompson may have argued for an earlier date. Can anyone find additional references on this?

It would affect several other articles (including Ulfilas, Gothic Christianity and Germanic Christianity). Thanks. Jacob Haller 07:48, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
