No redlinks?[edit]
Hi @Ipigott:, I'm wondering why some of the translators on this list who don't seem to have articles on Wikipedia aren't redlinked? Should I try linking them to see if there are any articles for them or should I assume there aren't any and go ahead and try to create some of them? I'm a translator so this is a passion of mine, to spread the word about notable and influential female translators. I also noticed that many of the translators in the wikidata list on the WiR project aren't on this list, how do we combine the two? Thank you for your help! Missing Names[edit]
When I look at the translators in the various translation-related categories: Category:English-Arabic translators, Category:Arabic-English translators, etc., it seems that many of the women on there are missing from this list. I suggest we create a category called Female Translators, in order to group all of these women. Is that something that I'm allowed to do or do we need to discuss it? - RubyALG: We used to have Category:Women translators but it was deleted after a majority of those commenting felt it should be avoided. In my experience, if we try to re-create it, we might well see other women's categories put up for deletion. Under these circumstances, I think the best solution would be to include all the women under Category:Translators and its subcategories in List of women translators. As for other women's lists, it would be useful to create lists by nationality or language combination (cf List of women writers). I'm rather busy at the moment but could possibly start helping with this over the next few days. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
