referencing and tags[edit]

I participated in AFD about this list-article which recently concluded "Keep". And I removed notability tag and refimprove tag from article, but was reverted by this edit. Okay, well what specifically needs to be improved, reference-wise, or other-wise? It seems to me that there are a couple in-line references in the lede, and that there is not other referencing needed there. Also there is no big need to provide a reference for each book item listed, as it is an entirely factual matter, probably non-controversial, about which books were published by Amistad Press. Are there any specific problems? --doncram 20:26, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I see no need to add a separate reference for each book. For example, the first book 32 Candles, could be "proven" to be an Amistad Press book by linking to an Amazon page, [http://www.amazon.com/32-Candles-Ernessa-T-Carter/dp/0061957852/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1418607251&sr=1-1&keywords=32+candles&pebp=1418607264037 perhaps this Amazon page if this link works] to show the copyright page in a version of the book, which clearly states that the book was first published in hardcover in 2010 by Amistad Press. (Hmm, it seems you have to click twice further to get to the copyright page...click on the book image, then select Copyright page. Not useful to include link in article, IMO.) I think that such a reference for each one would be excessive and unnecessary. I did add a general reference link to a search screen that covers the Amistad Press books currently listed at the publisher. That might not cover every book, because maybe it does not cover ones out of print, but it probably covers most if not all. 145 or so copies of that reference would not improve the article. --doncram 01:41, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
And this is why you in effect can bury all rules and regulations about company promo and spam. An indiscriminate list of predominantly in itself non-notable items is protected. It gives me the eery feeling that there are different rules for US-companies, as for other companies a list of products on sales is ruthlessly chopped.
