Unclear[edit]

A few questions/comments:

  • Is this article about adult or child kidnapping, or both? The title suggests both but the first line of Studies and subsequent discussion mentions only child kidnapping thus the title is not an accurate representation of the article.
  • Each major statistic cited could probably use it's own inline reference.--Godot13 (talk) 22:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Located here are four general legal and academic articles on child abduction (most with references to the UK) for additional sources beyond the newspaper articles. This is a vast and complex area, good luck.--Godot13 (talk) 00:10, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • According to the Offender Management Caseload found here and here, the statistics don’t appear to address parental child kidnapping, but rather the general category. The figures for 2008 (Chapter 6, Table 6.12) covers April 2008 to March 2009 and therefore may have some overlap with the following year. The report indicates 217 immediate custodial sentences for kidnapping. The statistics from 2009 (Chapter 6, Table 6.9) indicate that 185 people received an immediate custodial sentence for kidnapping. These were all the kidnapping cases reported. In 2012 (Table A1.7) the U.K. prison system had 672 inmates (635 male and 37 female) incarcerated for kidnapping.--Godot13 (talk) 03:03, 12 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
