At the 2011 census, Khajwa had a population of 5892. The entire population of Khajwa was 5892, of which 3149 were males, while females were.

Khajwa had a population of 1052 children in the age group 0 to 6. Which was 17.85% of the total population of Khajwa. Khajwa had an average sex ratio of 871, which was lower than the Madhya Pradesh state average of 931. Child sex ratio 873 according to census.

In 2011, Khajwa had a literacy rate of 51.59% compared to Madhya Pradesh's 69.32%. Male literacy in Khajwa was 62.23%, while female literacy rate was 39.37%.
