Source[edit]

  • Chin, Cass. "Noveske NSR Handguard". Military Morons. {{cite web}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |1= (help)

This source looks like it's a one-person site. If so, it probably doesn't meet Wikipedia standards. Rezin (talk) 03:32, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It appears the the two citations for the article (the above and this [1]) are just two copies of the same press release from the designer. If there's no independent sources then that implies the subject isn't notable. Rezin (talk) 22:16, 18 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Manufacturers[edit]

What's the purpose of this list? It makes the article look like a product directory or something. If there were just a couple of companies then it might make sense, but if the product is so common there doesn't seem to be much point. Also, it's entirely unsourced. If there's no objection I'll delete the whole section. Rezin (talk) 20:57, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy International KeySlot[edit]

Should there be eny reference to the very similar Accuracy International KeySlot, which predates or was developed at the same time, sa acknowledged by the developers of KeyMod in their official release? http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?109706-Vltor-VIS-KM-%28Keymod%29-official-release-of-information 91.55.125.117 (talk) 15:05, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I think you're right. That press release is a little hard to cite, for our purposes, since it was never reprinted in a 'legitimate' site, but since it was widely copied and it's not contentious we can probably go with the copy on their Facebook page[2] accompanied by the more stable but less trustworthy forum posting you found. History[edit]

"Keymod's design has obvious origins from roll formed pallet racking with its "teardrop" style (so named as the holes on the column of the upright are shaped like a teardrop) which has been around before the 1970s." is a statement obviously made from someone's assumption of relationship. The attached reference only proves that the aforementioned pallet rack systems exist, not that KeyMod is a derivative design. The pallet rack systems use a differently-shaped hole, and keyhole-lock systems have existed in a variety of other applications, so there is no reason to think that the specific pallet rack application inspired the KeyMod system. As the statement (whether proven or false) further adds no value to the article, I have removed it. 162.212.197.193 (talk) 03:23, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect statement[edit]

KeyMod is a universal interface system for firearm accessory components designed to supersede the MIL-STD-1913 "Picatinny" accessory rails.

KeyMod was not designed to supersede Picatinny rail:

My goal is for the industry to make this system a standard; working in parallel with the Picatinny rail; not replacing it.
