See Also link country annotations[edit]

@Gasiseda: Ref your reversion of my use of a template to provide the country of origin of the similar missiles in the "See also" section. Per MOS:SEEALSO "Editors should provide a brief annotation when a link's relevance is not immediately apparent, when the meaning of the term may not be generally known, or when the term is ambiguous."

While it is fairly obvious that the links will go to other missile systems, probably Korean, one of them appears to be a French Crotale variant. Do you have a policy or guideline reason for not doing this, as your edit note didn't seem to provide one. {{annotated link}} is another way of doing this, but it will mostly have redundant information. It is true that K-SAM is based on French Crotale missiles, but most of the systems are developed or produced in South Korea, so it seems misleading to simply conclude that it is French-made. If you want to distinguish between Korean and French for the clarity of the article being linked, I think just adding one word, Crotale, on the right would be enough.
In order to reduce this confusion, I think it is better to separate the contents of K-SAM and write it as an article. Gasiseda (talk) 23:21, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
