I have tagged this article based on the lack of reliable sources. The majority, maybe all, of the sources seem to be either based on user-provided information (veterantributes.org) -- or may otherwise lack credibility (POW Network, which links to the veterantributes.org page). Without credible secondary sources, this page may be a good candidate for deletion on account of lack of notability. Most of these citations should be deleted but I'm leaving it as-is for now to give the page creator a chance to resolve the issues. Oblivy (talk) 03:14, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Although it is true that some of the sources for this page include user-provided information (e.g., veterantributes.org), there are numerous credible secondary sources attesting to Frederick’s biography, including two books from respectable publishing houses (e.g., the Naval Institute Press), a legislative resolution passed by the Illinois General Assembly, a local ABC News television segment, and an esteemed nonprofit entity (the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund). Documenting the biographies of relatively obscure, but nonetheless historically significant individuals may necessarily rely on a small number of sources generated by contemporaries or other members of a small community of interest. You have added a number of sources which not present when my comment was made, which is a good thing. As I said, I didn't delete the citations in the hope that the article could be improved. However, some of the original sources like veterantributes, as you acknowledge, appear to be poor quality and should probably be deleted along with other information that can't be verified from a reliable secondary source.
