Jelle de Boer is definitely part of the on-going discussion on faked Van Goghs etc., and therefore should be in WP. More essential is the question, whether the information supplied at present meets WP-criteria - therefor the tag! --rpd (talk) 16:58, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jelle Taeke de Boer (1908-1970) was een controversieel Nederlands kunstverzamelaar die bijna zijn gehele werkzame leven besteedde aan het verzamelen van niet eerder ontdekte meesterwerken van bekende impressionisten.

Alhoewel hij voornamelijk werken kocht die hij toedichtte aan Vincent van Gogh, zocht hij ook naar werken van andere beroemde meesters als Manet, Monet, Paul Cézanne, Renoir en Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Ook wist hij de hand te leggen op tekeningen en schilderijen van ‘mindere Goden’ als van Israels, Koekoek, Vlamink, en Luns (de vader van oud Minister Jospeh Luns) en 9 stukken van de Amerikaanse impressionist Castle Keyth maar werd in de Nederlandse kunstkringen niet serieus genomen.

De Jelle de Boer collectie heeft op een bepaald moment mogelijk 1000 werken bevat. Onder het mom van vermeende falsificaties werd op 14 augustus 1967 door de Zwitserse Justitie een deel van de collectie van Jelle de Boer in beslag genomen in de galerie van Anton Acherman te Luzerne. Volgens De Boer bevatte de geëxposeerde collectie meer dan honderd onbekende meesterwerken van impressionisten als Vincent van Gogh en tijdgenoten.

Een deel werd korte tijd daarna vrijgegeven maar 21 werken bleven 35 jaar lang achter slot en grendel in het Politiemuseum van Luzerne” en zijn in 2002 vrijgegeven. Na jarenlang touwtrekken en vele rechtszaken ging de Zwitserse justitie eindelijk overstag en werden de laatste 21 werken op 29 juni 2002 officieel overhandigd aan ‘Stichting Jelle de Boer’ die de collectie nu onder haar hoede heeft voor nader onderzoek. - --rpd (talk) 21:12, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You know,... if I read your guide lines, I probably wouldn't post a darn thing on your site. Mainly because half my writings and comments on other sites left on art articles & sites,.. where authors are wishing comments on the world-wide-web,... they are either deleted or censored. Christ,... I have even caused complete sites to go down and no longer be available for more comments,... say like this site here just below. [1]. It's amazing how much was to be read on the World Wide Web 3 or 4 years ago, about this total collection of Jelle Taeke de Boer that was bought by 2 or three investors from his wife, just before she died. They even had video of her while they had a video of the confiscation by the Swiss law enforcement of the works of art, the total collection in pictures was available to be seen by everyone, and of the fight they had in getting them all released. It was mentioned where all the works were going to be on display, in the USA, in some kind of a museum, talks also about getting authenticity for quite a few of them, but the real hopes of theirs were one or possibly two were real. Where did all these people doing all this marvelous research of these works disappear to, the ones who were trying to get this done and taken care of? Basically I believe it was more important to the art lovers and connoisseurs, mostly for the ones who like original works by the masters.
