Querying some data[edit]

My father worked as stage manager, director and actor at the Independent from around 1946 to 1950.

He would be interested in adding to, correcting information in this article.

For example he played the lead in Volpone which ran for 6 months - which does not appear here.

There is also no mention of The Invisible Circus (play)

  • Thanks for finding those two glaring omissions. Tell us more about your father; he sounds interesting. Doug butler (talk) 06:51, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
He is John Cameron who met his future wife Betty Duncan at the Independent. See http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/206394301. He is 91 now. Mum died a few years ago. Camerojo (talk) 12:39, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Dad's autobiography which contains some references to the Independent is publicly available at http://youbelong.info/public/Autobiography_of_John_R_A_Cameron . In particular see Chapter 1 "Pre-War" and Chapter 5 "Independent Days" Camerojo (talk) 06:59, 2 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of productions[edit]

It might be worth separating professional full productions from play readings. What source material was used to create the existing list of productions? Did that come from Doris's diary? What other resources are available? Camerojo (talk) 22:01, 1 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The list of productions came from searching newspaper reviews and advertisements using Trove Doug butler (talk) 15:15, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Founder[edit]

Australian-British playwright Harry Tighe is mentioned as founder of Independent theatre in Sydney in this article [1] Tradimus (talk) 13:43, 20 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
