Problem - Auschwitz 1937[edit]

The article says:

... Meinungen and his family, including his infant daughter Hanna Meinungen (ca. 18 months), were deported to Auschwitz concentration camp, where Samuel Meinungen died on the 25.11.1937.[4]

Something here doesn't make sense. Either the date or the place is wrong. Until September 1939 Auschwitz was in Poland, under Polish rule, and the concentration camp there was established in May 1940. No German authority would have been able to deport anyone there before late 1939 - and at that time there was no camp there. Norvo (talk) 19:38, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

About the fate of the Meinungen family[edit]

Another site ([1]) reports that Samuel Meinungen died and was buried in Hagenow in 1937, while his relatives were deported to Auschwitz in 1942. 80.181.56.146 (talk) 10:37, 16 September 2018 (UTC) eugenio ascoli bartoli eugenioab@gmail.com[reply]
