PLOT[edit]

What about adding a plot to this film? OK, I'm not English nor Irish and I saw the film in its original version, and maybe I lost some pieces. Maybe there are many things missing or some wrong. But I think it's better having a little plot for improving this article, thanks. More or less, here I go:

Northern Ireland, Maze Prison (aka Long Kesh), 1981. Newly arrived young IRA prisoner Declan (Aidan Campbell) is warned by the autorithies prison that the IRA does not exist in the Maze. Declan joins the blanket protest and is send to the cell with prisoner Seamus Scullion (Brendan Mackey), who is on the blanket and also the dirty protest. P^risoners at night talk to each others in gaelic, as well as it's the main language between them because that way the prison workers don't understand them. Seamus talks with one of the prison's officers to have better conditions in their cells, as they only have a mattress. The prisoners get it, as well as their can wash. But as for the clothes, they get civil clothes but not their own clothes. So Seamus goes to talk to the prison's governor (Gerry O'Brien), and he is beaten and the prisoners transferred to their old uncomfortable cells. Sunday, the day of mass. Seamus talks to IRA's office comander in Long Kesh, Bobby Sands (Mark O'Halloran) who says the only way is the hunger strike. He will lead it, and then Francis Hughes will join (Fergal McElherron), as well as Ray McCreesh and Patsy O'Hara. Short after the 1981 hunger strike began, the independent MP at Westminster Frank Maguire suddenly dies of a heart attack. He was the prisoner's voice outside, and Bobby Sands is choosen for the post. He wins, and the prisoners celebrate it. They don't have radio but they did made an electrical appliance so they can listen the radio in a clandestine way. But Bobby does not stop the hunger strike and dies. This makes all the prisoner's angry, as he was a member of the Westmister parliament. As more deaths of hungerstrikes succeed, Ciaran (Dean Lennox Kelly) a prisoner who left the blanket and dirty protests and dressed the prison uniform, comes back to join her prison friends who are in srtuggle. ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.32.117.89 (talk) 14:33, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
